Voted NO on the sludge plant

I was on the Quonset Development Corporation board when the sludge-processing facility came up for a vote — and I voted NO. I said then that a sludge plant has no place near our neighborhoods and schools. I resigned from the board in protest, and I am uniquely positioned to lead the fight against it now after seeing the flaws in the system of closed debate and backroom deals that led to this point. Today the project is halted under the moratorium won by Senators DiMario and Valverde, and our Town Council is taking the fight to the EPA.

Balanced budgets, level taxes

Four balanced town budgets in a row, without raising taxes — while communities across Rhode Island raised theirs, some so steeply they needed the legislature's permission. Fought to update tax exemptions for seniors, veterans, and people with disabilities.

New schools and public-safety stations

Fought for and won the bonds to replace our 100-year-old middle school, improve our other schools, rebuild the crumbling Post Road police and fire station, and build a new public-safety station at Quonset, when the other candidates in the race did not lift a finger. Fully funded our schools and first responders in every budget I passed, with new fire trucks, ambulances, radios, and safer PFAS-free gear.

Jobs and revenue for the town

On the Quonset board, backed responsible projects that brought good jobs and millions in revenue to North Kingstown — money that keeps property taxes down and pays for the services and schools our families rely on.

A new law protecting Rhode Island veterans

As the RI VFW's legislative leader, championed the now-enacted state law protecting Rhode Island veterans from the predatory claim sharks who prey on their benefits.
