Stopping the sludge plant

Matt voted NO on the sludge facility at Quonset — the only candidate in this race who was in the room and on the record. Now he's working with our state senators, whose moratorium has it stopped, to end it for good.

Protecting our veterans

Twenty-three years in the Navy. Statewide VFW leadership, from State Adjutant to Senior Vice Commander. And a new state law Matt championed that protects Rhode Island veterans from predatory claim sharks.

Keeping our town safe

A Moms Demand Action Gun Sense Candidate who fought for Rhode Island's landmark gun-safety laws — and a councilman who delivered new police, fire, and EMS stations, vehicles, and equipment here at home.

Making life affordable

Four balanced budgets without raising taxes. Jobs and revenue brought to Quonset that pay for our schools and services. Fought to update tax exemptions for seniors, veterans, and people with disabilities.

Protecting our freedoms

When neighbors raised the alarm about Flock license-plate surveillance cameras, Matt led the response: he put them on the Town Council agenda and won the vote to terminate the contract and remove the cameras. One day later, the Governor paused new installations statewide.

A life of dedication to service.

The Navy brought Matt to Newport as a young sailor; Rhode Island gave him his career and his wife, Deborah. After twenty-three years in uniform, they came home to North Kingstown, raised two NKHS graduates, and never stopped serving — the VFW, Moms Demand Action, the Town Council.
